Eat, Pray, Love

What a beautiful movie!  It reminds me of my 3-weeks Italy trip just 3 months ago.  It's only been 3 months.  Why does it feel like it was such a long time ago?  I wish I can take a year off and travel around the world to feel happy.  Learning Italian in Italy is a wonderful idea.  First, 'divorce' my job.  Next, gota figure out what the hell to do.

Florence, Italy Day6 14Aug2010

Rain rain rain! Walking around on the street having umbrella fights is such a pain. Gonna take the sightseeing bus (already paid for) to the Palazzo Pitti and hide there for a few hours. Hopefully, the rain will die down while I enjoy the expensive art pieces in the palace! So the rain continued and I did walk around town anyway. Shoes completely soaked. Got so wet and tired and decided to call it the day, the rain stopped as soon as I got back to my hotel room! Oh well...

Florence, Italy Day 5 13-Aug2010

Spent 2 hours at the Uffizi Gallery this morning. Saw some spectacular paintings. Heavy rain started so decided to use the Sightseeing Bus (€22 for 48hrs). Took both lines in one go to get my moneys worth. Rain stopped by 3:30pm and temperature rose back to 30s from 19(C). Very pleasant up at the Michaelangelo Plaza. There you can finally get a feel of the Tuscany beauty. Also get a breath taking view of the city of Florence. The Red Line Bus goes to Fiesole, a quiet beautiful small town up on the hills about 7km away from the city.

Venice -> Florence, Italy

12-Aug 2010 Really enjoyed Venice. Moving on to Florence. Discovered changing train reservation is free, so I left Venice 1 hour early at 10:27am. Saved me from trying to kill time lugging my suitcase.

Lido, Italy 11-Aug 2010

Lido is only 15 minutes ferry ride away from Venice. It reminds me of Watson's Bay in Sydney, Australia. It is very different from Venice. I kinda think it's the Hawaii of Venice.

Fake Shrimp - Lido, Italy

How could I have been fooled? An extremely seasoned 'Seafood
Connoisseur', I didn't know these shrimps were fake until my first
bite. I thought only the Japanese make fake food! And I gave up the
Beef Cappaccio for these fake shrimps! What the fxxk!!!

Venice, Italy - Day 3

11-Aug, 2010
Had a double scoop gelato (celery & arugula at Alaska Gelateria) and a
yellow peach for lunch today. Saving myself for a decent dinner.
Walked from train station to San Marco area after visiting the Palazzo
Ducale and Museo Correr in the morning. Of course I got lost again.
That's a given! This is only day three in Italy and my legs are
completely spent already. On the way to Lido (4:30pm) for a late
afternoon sun bathing session and get some rest for my poor legs.

Venice, Italy - Day 2

9-12 Aug 2010
Venice is special. Nowhere else can even come close to it. Atteneded a
String Quartet concert featuring Vivaldi. Enjoyed it a great deal. Should
probably attend more of these performances back home. Getting lost is
part of daily activities. Fortunately, I can always find my way in
the end.
