Countdown to My 40th Birthday

When I was a kid, I looked forward to finishing school so I can start earning some money and be free. Of course, that was not the end of story. As time goes by, I find life doesn't get any easier. If my sixth sense is accurate, things should turn around after I turn 40. It'd be nice if things can get better sooner. In the mean time, I travel and eat good food as much as I can! It's good to have something to look forward to...especially if it's a good life ahead of me.

Current Status: Temporarily Retired

It's been almost 5 months since I quit my job. Totally loving this new life but I have trouble filling out forms for the "Occupation" section. I'm obviously not a Housewife and it's not nice to use the word Unemployed. A young woman who sat next to me in a restaurant today is in a similar situation. I shamelessly eavesdropped on her conversation with the 2 men who sat next to her on the other side. Apparently, she's quit her job a few months ago and has been traveling around Asia with an open end ticket. She called herself retired and I should use this status as well. Unfortunately, I can't afford to be retired for much longer so it will have to be temporary!

Unemployed Day 37

Time flies! It's been over a month since I stopped working. Lots of people thought I'd be bored by now. Surprisingly, I don't feel bored in the slightest. Some days I'm actually quite busy and wonder how quickly a day goes by. I think I am a perfect candidate for early retirement. Unfortunately, my retirement fund is light years away from being enough. Oh well...
